SOURCING
At Cafe Basia we use the highest quality beans from MANDARINOS COFFEE that is produced in the western mountains of Honduras. The green beans are brought to Houston, TX and artistically roasted in small batches. The coffee is always fresh and through DIRECT TRADE with the famer.
Growing coffee for more than 4 generations in Atima a little town in Santa Barbara, Honduras, Mandarinos Coffee goes from the farm direct to your cup. The farm is located at 1250 meters above sea level (more 4100 feet) where the coffee is strictly high grown (SHG). The high altitudes and low temperatures produce a slower maturing fruit and have a direct impact on the size, shape, and taste of the coffee. The name Mandarinos Coffee comes from the large variety of citrus trees on the farm, especially tangerines "Mandarinos" . The citrusy and fruity flavor are blended in harmony with the flavors of the coffee.
Mandarinos Coffee is certified as a Women's Business Enterprise (WBE) through the Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), the nation's largest third party certifier of businesses owned and operated by women in the US.
